Il Palazzone Brunello di Montalcino | Montalcino | Magnums
2003
NEWSuch has been the popularity of our Rosso del Palazzone and Il Palazzone Brunello di Montalcino that the Palazzone Estate has offered us a small parcel of their magnums from the 2003 vintage, which come in beautiful single-bottle wooden cases. The perfect gift for all Italian wine lovers.
The 2003 in Montalcino was a very good, forward vintage which means that the wine is drinkable now and will last until at least 2018. When we first tasted this wine we were all stunned by how good it was.

About Brunello di Montalcino
Produced in the fairly arid vineyards surrounding the Tuscan town of Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino has long been thought of as one of Italy’s most prestigious wines. It is made from a ‘superior clone’ of the Sangiovese grape, Sangiovese Grosso, and in 1980 it was awarded the first Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) designation. According to current DOCG regulations Brunello di Montalcino wines cannot be released until five years after harvest, during which time they must be aged in oak for a minimum of 2 years and spend at least 4 months in bottle. Brunello di Montalcino wines generally have a hearty and meaty nose, followed by big, rich fruit flavors which can be plumy or perfumed, and woody tannins. They also tend to have great aging potential.
