2 bottles Château Richemont 2003
Eminently quaffable Claret from a great Bordeaux vintage at a great price. We know the wine well and it just about the perfect all-rounder suitable for any occasion and drinkable with just about anything. Our 'House' red.

2 bottles Saint-Julien 2000
A stunning bargain: wine from the legendary 2000 vintage from the vineyards of one of the St-Julien 'super second' classified growths owned by the Borie family—at a fraction of the price of the Château wine, which Robert Parker describes as 'the essence of elegance, symmetry, balance, breed, class and distinction.' This is very high-class, fully-mature claret.

2 bottles Château Peyrabon Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc 2004
A really good Cru Bourgeois where the vines grow on sandy gravel. This property owned by the Bernard family is an example of how to make fabulous claret using great terroir combined with the latest in traditional modern technology (minimal intervention—for example vertical wine presses which are gentle and rely on gravity). The wines from Château Peyrabon win awards whenever they are shown. Their 2004 is no exception.

2 bottles Château Fourcas-Dumont 2001
From Listrac, a small appellation in the heart of the Medoc that produces many of the backbone wines of Bordeaux. This is a vineyard in ascendancy to be followed. Exceptional value for money—we hope that in years to come it will remain that way! High quality drinking claret.

1 bottle Château du Glana 2002
A fine Cru Bourgeois from St-Julien in the Medoc. This is exactly what what you would expect from thoroughly good, well-made claret from the excellent 2002 vintage. Very good value for money and drinking now (we recommend opening the bottle 1/2 hour before you drink it).

1 bottle Margaux Bordeaux 2004
A spectacular parcel of a wine declassified from the most famous of the 3rd Growth Margaux whose 2004 sells for £1000+ a case and has a great following in the UK. This is very high-class Claret indeed that it is just beginning to drink really well now and will last for many years.

1 bottle La Réserve de Leoville Barton 2004
Made from the younger vines at the legendary 2nd growth Château Leoville Barton and 3rd growth Château Langoa Barton ('wine for the true claret connoisseur'—Robert Parker), owned by the Anglo-Irish Barton family since 1821. No more needs be said...terrific value.

1 bottle Château d'Angludet 2001
The Sichel family home and vineyard at d'Angludet in Margaux receives very special loving care and attention from the owners of Château Palmer and other vineyards—and produces wonderful wines from aged vines. The terroir at d'Angludet is why Bordeaux is centre of the fine wine industry—and always will be. Margaux normally produces more delicate and scented wines than its more northerly neighbours in the Medoc—and 2001 is a good, rich vintage, just beginning to drink really well now. This is a firm favourite of all of ours.
