Domaine Les Eminades “Cebenna”
Saint Chinian

2002

A superb example of the wines that southern France can produce in the 21st century—totally traditionally made by Luc and Patricia Bettoni in a tiny vineyard of very old vines of over 100 years old, who still press their grapes with their feet—minimal intervention and extraordinary attention to every detail produce a wonderfully rich and concentrated red wine.

Our tasting notes
The colour is dark red but bright with a lots of spicy ripe fruit on the nose. A smooth rich wine with excellent acidity and balance. Refreshing and very made—good concentration from low-yielding vines. A great example of how good wines from this region are.

About Saint Chinian
The appellation Saint Chinian is northwest of Beziers in the Languedoc-Roussillon. It is beautiful, rugged countryside sheltered by the foothills of the Cevennes. Vines were first planted here in the 9th century and the wine made by monks. The appellation now has 3300 hectares of vines producing better and better wines—mainly big full-bodied reds which compliment the local dish, Lapin au Moutard.
