Mas Belles Eaux ‘Les Coteaux’ | Languedoc

2005

The new star from the Languedoc is the fabulous Mas Belle Eaux les Coteaux. This wine from the owners of Quinta do Noval and Chateau Pichon-Baron has take the wine world by storm and with good reason—even the highly influential Robert Parker gives it 91/100. We have never tasted a wine this good from the Languedoc, it is in a word delicious and very good value for a very fine wine.

The Press
‘I also loved the savoury wildness of Mas Belles Eaux Les Coteaux 2005, a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre that’s perfect with grilled lamb or steak.’—Victoria Moore, The Guardian, March 2009

☆☆☆☆ 'Rich and spicy, but with a brooding depth. Displays a savoury opulence. Impressive structure and depth of fruit, direct and engaging. Drink from 2009.' —Decanter Magazine
Tasting notes
Vibrant, black purple colour with a pure, fruit driven nose. Juicy, peppery and very concentrated. This is stunningly good wine—almost a hermitage, possibly better. Exceptional in all respects.
