A magnificent Merlot-based Rosé made and blended for us by Château de Sours, producers of 'possibly the best Rosé in the world' (the late Auberon Waugh). This is everything you would expect and more from a Rosé from Château de Sours. The best there is—simply delicious. We don't have an enormous quantity of this wine so we suggest you order early.

Our tasting notes

Vibrant, blood pink with a nose that bursts open with jammy summer fruit—the wine is fresh, rich, dense and packed with opulent berry fruit flavours with a long lingering finish. A wine for serious Rosé drinkers—great all the time and with just about with anything.

About Rosé

High quality Rosé (and there is lot that isn't) such as that made at Château de Sours is made by running-off the free run juice from red grapes after 24-36 hours of 'skin contact'—the 'Saigné' method. The wine is then cold fermented for 6-8 weeks to preserve the full flavour of the fruit. Bottled with screwcap Stelvin closures to preserve the wine's freshness, it should ideally be drunk within two years of the vintage.

 

Prices are all-inclusive for deliveries to UK mainland and Northern Ireland. Minimum total order is 2 cases (24 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for the UK and 5 cases (60 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for Northern Ireland. We also offer a collection service for our French wines from just outside Calais, France (minimum of 5 cases and excluding mixed cases), at a per-bottle saving of £1.50 for wines and £2.00 for Champagne, and a per-case saving of £18 for wine, £24 per 12-case/£12 per 6-case for Champagne.
