NEWA wonderful Pinot Noir made from vines just outside the village of Pommard, one of the very best red Burgundy appellations, and bottled by Domaine Vincent Sauvestre in Mersault. A far cry from the usual thin Pinot Noirs one normally finds for under £10, this is full bodied, rich and will be drinking very well for the next 4-5 years. Stunning value!

Bright ruby with a rich, berry fruitynose. Strong cherry flavours with a slight hint of pepper. This is a fresh, fruity wine with good concentration and a long finish.Wine data

About Pommard
Pommard, one of the classic Burgundy appellations, is a small village in the Côte de Beaune district of the Côte d’Or. The vines here, which almost exclusively produce Pinot Noir grapes, grow on steep uneven slopes of clay-dominated soil, which climb high into scrub covered hills. The resultant wines tend to be well structured, meaty, and more powerful and tannic than other Pinot Noirs from the neighbouring appellations. This means that whilst Pommards can be drunk young they also have excellent potential for aging.

Minimum total order is 1 case (12 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for the UK and 2 cases (24 bottles of 75cl equivalent) for Northern Ireland, Highlands and islands.
